Our Story
Have you ever experienced a life-altering event?
On May 17, 2005, Linda Roose received the news that her youngest son, Joshua, had been shot in the head and wasn’t expected to live through the night. Her world shattered.
Joshua’s Story is the true account of a teenager’s struggle to survive against all odds, and a mother’s fight to stay positive in the midst of a parent’s worst nightmare.
Author and single mother Linda Roose recounts a gripping journey of faith, love and hope and provides shocking insight into her personal struggles as she learns to accept the loss of the son she once knew as well as how to live again.
Joshua’s Story takes readers through a three-year period of grief, acceptance, and hope for a better future. Joshua is a remarkable soldier for God, which becomes clear as his mother shares his sorrow and joy with the world to prove that with God, all things are possible.
Before Joshua was shot, he was going into his Freshman year at Hilliard Darby High School in Ohio. He enjoyed hanging out with friends, painting, and playing the guitar. Linda was previously in the dental field before transitioning to taking care of Josh full-time.
Joshua and Linda now live in Billings, Montana with their dog, Beau and cat, Biddy. They are active in their church community, where Josh runs the sound and lighting for the service every other weekend. He also enjoys listening to live music.
